A symbol in my schematic is too small and I want to make it bigger, how do I change the size of symbols in Multisim?

  1. Open the Symbol Editor for the symbol you want to alter.
  2. Select the menu option Edit>>Resize boundary box, or click on the respective button in the tools toolbar.
  3. Resize the boundary box of the symbol, this will allow you to edit the symbol within the limits of the defined area.

Additional Information

  • Bitmaps or shapes you draw must be inside the defined symbol boundary box, and symbol pins have to be outside of the boundary.
  • The grid outside of the symbol boundary box matches the schematic grid so it can be used as a guide to determine how big your symbol should be.
  • The symbol editor can be used to create components, hierarchical/subcircuits, and title blocks if you are not sure how to access it, refer to the documents linked below.
