LabVIEW Doesn’t Open Online Help

Issue Details

  • When attempting to open the Online Help from the LabVIEW Help menu, it doesn't work. How can I troubleshoot this?
  • After launching LabVIEW, clicking Help >> LabVIEW Help... does not work. What causes this?
  • When I click Ctrl + Shift + ? in LabVIEW, the Online Help should open but it doesn't. How can I fix it?

Solution

This issue can be caused by a number of factors including:

  • Firewall rules.
  • Security software blocking LabVIEW.
  • Network connection issues.

 

To resolve this issue, follow the steps below:

 

  1. Verify that LabVIEW and the NI website (ni.com pages) are allowed through the firewall.
  2. If any 3rd party security software is installed:
    1. Check logs to see if any activity from LabVIEW or pages related to ni.com have been blocked.
    2. Temporarily disable or uninstall it to verify if there is any difference in behaviour.
  3. Ensure that your PC can reach the LabVIEW Programming Reference Manual page in a browser normally.
  4. Test several different network connections to ensure that the network connectivity is not the cause of the issue.
