Issue Details

  • I am using passwords to protect Block Diagrams in my VIs. However, when I enter the password on a computer once, it seems to be stored because from then on I can open the Block Diagrams any time. Is there a way to remove the password again?
  • When I set the VI Properties of my VI to Password-protected, I can still open the Block Diagram. How can I make sure this function works properly when I cannot test opening the VI on another computer?

Solution

When a VI is set to password-protected or when a password needed to open a protected Block Diagram is typed into the Authentication dialog, it is automatically stored in LabVIEW's password cache. This enables LabVIEW to open this VI and any other VI protected with the same password without asking for the password again.
