NI License Manager Showing Zero Licenses, Unlicensed or Evaluation Mode With FlexNet

Issue Details

I am using FlexNet (formerly FLEXlm) to manage a volume license server that pulls concurrent licenses to activate my National Instruments software on the computers. After setting up a connection to the server, the computers can open and run LabVIEW without any issue, but in the NI License Manager it shows that LabVIEW is 'unlicensed' or 'evaluation' on that computer, under both the local and network license tabs. Is this expected behaviour?


Using NI License Manager 4.x and later

This is expected behaviour. Because of the way FlexNet Publisher (formerly FLEXlm) interacts with our software, you will not see an activation status in the NI License Manager for this type of license.

Using NI License Manager 3.x and earlier

Contact your company's software administrator to make sure that:
  1. The licensing request has been accepted by the Volume Licence Server.
  2. There are seats available on Volume Licence Server for the software versions you are trying to activate. 
  3. The Volume Licence Server has the correct Computer ID for your computer and NI Licence Manager has the correct name for the Volume Licence Server you are trying to connect to as seen below:
