There are several reasons why you could be getting this error, even though the error message above references the NI-DAQmx driver specifically, this error can also happen with other NI Drivers and LabVIEW components. First, you will need to
verify what version of NI software is installed on your computer. Once you have done this, please follow these steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Only the Runtime Version of the NI Driver Is Installed
NI Runtime Drivers do not include ADE Support which contains APIs for LabVIEW. To access ADE, you will need to download and install the full version of the NI Drivers. The full version will be listed as
NI-Driver Name XX.X.X (without the phrases "Runtime" or "Configuration Support" included). To verify that you do not have the ADE Support Driver installed, go to NI MAX and select
Software and Drivers, if you only see the "Runtime" version then you will need to download the full version.
Incompatible Version of the NI Driver or LabVIEW Component With the LabVIEW Development Environment
To verify which version of the NI Driver you need with your LabVIEW Environment, refer to the compatibility tables. Each NI Driver has its own compatibility chart, for example, the
NI-DAQmx and LabVIEW Compatibility will let you determine the version of NI-DAQmx you will need for your LabVIEW environment. Download and install the proper version from the
NI Download page. If you have several versions of LabVIEW installed and you cannot find a single version of the required NI Driver or complement to support your ADEs, consider upgrading the code to a supported version.
Incorrect Order of Installation or Potential Corrupted NI Driver/LabVIEW Component
This error occurs often when NI Drivers are installed before the LabVIEW IDE.
Force reinstalling or
repairing the driver should resolve the issue. Reinstalling or repairing the NI Driver can also fix a corrupt installation by ensuring all files are properly removed.
