Find the Revision of NI Hardware

Issue Details

  • There was a recall affecting hardware of a certain revision of hardware.  I need to find the revision of my part to see if it is affected.
  • How do I find the revision of my hardware?

Solution

The hardware revision will be included in the device's part number.
  1. Find the part number of your hardware.  It will likely be on a sticker on the side of the unit. 
  2. Look at the structure of the serial number. It should have a similar form to the following: XXXXXXY-XXZ, where Xs are numbers, Y is a letter, and Z is a letter.
  3. Isolate the the letter in the "Y" spot is the hardware's revision.
    • For example, part number 157420C-01L is revision C.
