Issue Details

When I connect my signals to the analog input channels of my NI USB-6008/6009, I receive readings that are unexpected. This is regardless of the input configuration. What is reason for this and how can I fix this problem?

Solution

One possible reason is that the channels could be labeled incorrectly on your device. When you receive the NI USB-6008/6009, there are labels that you are supposed to adhere to the device. Make sure you place Labels 1 - 16 on the Analog side of the device and Labels 17 - 32 on the Digital side of the device. Pinouts for these devices are shown in the "Additional Information" section.

Another thing to note is that the pinouts for the NI USB 6008/6009 OEM cards are not the same as the pinouts for the non-OEM version.  If you are using the OEM version, the correct pin diagrams (shown in "Additional Information") are found in the NI USB 6008/6009 OEM User Guide .  Please note that the pinout diagram in Measurement and Automation Explorer is for the non-OEM version.  If you are using the correct pinouts and are still reading incorrect values from your USB device, please contact NI Technical Support.
