Do I Need Administrator Privileges to Configure NI Volume License Manager?

Issue Details

  • I am a VLM administrator and cannot be granted administrator privileges on my computer. Can I configure Volume License Manager without having to request Windows administrator rights?
  • Is there a way to remotely configure and administrate licences for local machines on the server without administrator rights? 

Solution

NI VLM can only be configured by a user with administrator rights. Regardless of the fact you are the VLM administrator, your access will be denied if you are not running NI VLM as a Windows administrator.
