TSN Enabled cDAQ-9185 and 9189 Not Appearing as Sync Resource

Issue Details

I have an Ethernet CompactDAQ (cDAQ) that comes with TSN.  I am connecting the cDAQs together to form a TSN network and in my LabVIEW VI I want to select my cDAQ as a Sync Resource, however my cDAQs are not populating as expected.  I have tested with the shipping examples such as Enable and Disable Time References and Monitor and Configure Time References and my cDAQs do not show up as Sync Resources in either of them.  I am able to use the cDAQ as a regular DAQmx resource.

Solution

There are a number of software items you need to have installed on your computer in order to use an Ethernet cDAQ as a sync resource in LabVIEW. See the following minimum software versions you will need to use your chassis as a sync resource:
  • LabVIEW 2015 SP1 or later
  • NI-DAQmx 17.1 or later
  • NI-TimeSync 18.1 or later
  • For cDAQ-9185 and cDAQ-9189, firmware 18.1 or later
