Issue Details

I would like to migrate between the NI Volume License Manager and FlexNet Publisher (formerly FLEXlm).  How do I do this?

Solution

NI VLM to FlexNet Publisher

Moving from NI VLM to FlexNet Publisher requires replacing the license file to be compatible with FlexNet Publisher.

  1. Send an email to agreements@ni.com, stating that you want to move to FlexNet Publisher, including the server name, server operating system (either Windows or Solaris), and server Computer ID or host ID (MAC address for Windows and host ID for Solaris). Agreements will provide a license file that you can use to activate the National Instruments software.
  2. Once you receive the new license file, follow the configuration steps in Getting Started with FlexNet Publisher Configuration
