Migrating a License Server Between NI VLM and FlexNet Publisher (FLEXlm)

Environment

Moving from NI Volume License Manager (VLM) to FlexNet Publisher and vice versa requires replacing the license file to be compatible with the respective license manager. To migrate between the two:

Send an email to services@ni.com, stating that you want to move to NI VLM or FlexNet Publisher, including the server name, server operating system (either Windows or Solaris), version of NI VLM you've installed (if moving to VLM), and server Computer ID or host ID (MAC address for Windows and host ID for Solaris). Agreements will provide a license file that you can use to activate the NI software.
Once you receive the new license file, follow the configuration steps in Get Started with VLA and Set Up NI Volume License Manager (VLM) or Getting Started with FlexNet Publisher Configuration .

Additional Information

The email to services@ni.com must be sent by the software license administrator.
