Issue Details

When I execute a test sequence using a custom TestStand application or custom LabVIEW User Interface that writes numeric arrays or binary waveform data to a Microsoft SQL Server database, the following run-time error occurs:

An error occurred calling 'LogResults' in 'ITSDBLog' of 'zNI TestStand Database Logging'
An error occurred executing a statement.
Schema: SQL Server Stored Proc (NI)
Statement: PROP_BINARY
Description: Arithmetic result exceeded 32 bits.
Number: -2147024362
NativeError: -2147024362
Source: TSDBLog
ERROR CODE: -2147024362; Code Module/User-defined error code.
LOCATION: Step 'Log Results to Database' of sequence 'LogToDatabase' in 'NI_DatabaseLogger.seq'

Additionally, the same sequence file executes without errors when run directly inside the TestStand Sequence Editor. f a rebuilt DBLog.dll is missing or not registered in the runtime path, TestStand may also return Error -17502: System Level Exception at step Create Server for Non-OTF.

Solution

This behavior occurs when the deployed custom runtime environment uses an unpatched or outdated version of DBLog.dll while the development environment uses the updated DLL.

Follow these steps to update the deployed runtime environment:

  1. Locate the recompiled and patched 64-bit DBLog.dll file on the development machine
  2. Copy and deploy the updated DBLog.dll to the runtime directory of the custom application
  3. Ensure the custom application's installer or deployment feed includes and overwrites the existing DBLog.dll
  4. Rerun the test sequence from the custom user interface and verify that binary and numeric array logging completes successfully
