Issue Details

When I run an NI VeriStand project, deployment fails and the following error is displayed:

Error 537700 occurred at Project Window.lvlib:Project Window.vi >>
Project Window.lvlib:Command Loop.vi >>
NI_VS Workspace ExecutionAPI.lvlib:NI VeriStand - Connect to System.vi

The NI VeriStand Gateway Status window reports that the server code is undefined and references error 537700 (0x00083464).

The issue occurs when attempting to run the project and connect to the system from NI VeriStand.

Solution

This issue can occur after migrating an NI CompactRIO (cRIO) system from a cRIO-9042 to a cRIO-9033 when the existing NI VeriStand project contains hardware-specific EtherCAT or FPGA configurations that are not valid for the new controller.
To resolve the issue:
  1. Review the EtherCAT configuration in the existing NI VeriStand project.
  2. Verify that the correct EtherCAT adapter is selected for the cRIO-9033 target.
  3. Compare the EtherCAT adapter settings between the original cRIO-9042 deployment and the migrated cRIO-9033 deployment.
  4. Update the EtherCAT adapter settings to match the hardware and network configuration of the cRIO-9033 in NI MAX.
  5. Review the FPGA configuration associated with the project.
  6. Verify that the FPGA personality, bitfile, and FPGA-related project settings are compatible with the cRIO-9033 controller.
  7. Rebuild or migrate the FPGA application as required for the cRIO-9033 target.
  8. Save the project and redeploy the NI VeriStand System Definition.
  9. Run the project and verify that the deployment completes successfully.
After updating the EtherCAT adapter settings and correcting the FPGA configuration for the cRIO-9033 target, the project deployed successfully and the following error no longer occurred:
