Issue Details

I have USRP X440 and need to use X4_200 FPGA image. I need to use 4x10GbE links for data transfer between USRP X440 and network interface card (NIC). Which NIC supports configuration to treat QSFP28 port as 4x10GbE links without QSFP28 to 4xSFP+ breakout cable?

Solution

The NI USRP X440 100 GbE Connectivity Kit NIC does not support operating a QSFP28 port as four independent 10 GbE links. The adapter supports a single 10 GbE connection over the QSFP28 interface but cannot expose the port as four separate 10 GbE links.

Use an IntelĀ® Ethernet Controller XL710-based NIC when four independent 10 GbE links are required over a QSFP28 connection.

The Intel XL710 supports the following port configurations:
- Four 10 GbE links (4x10 GbE)
- One 40 GbE link (1x40 GbE)
- Two 40 GbE links (2x40 GbE)

Additional Information

Please note that Intel XL710 NIC does not support 100GbE over QSFP28 port so cannot be used for streaming applications with device maximum IQ rate.
