Issue Details

The Microsoft .NET 8.0 runtime installed with the LabVIEW 2026 Run-Time Engine (RTE) is being flagged by our organization's security software. How can I update or remediate the affected components while maintaining LabVIEW functionality?

Solution Summary:

  1. Download and install the latest Microsoft .NET 8.0 updates from the Microsoft website on the affected PC (as of September 2026, .NET Desktop Runtime 8.0.31).
  2. This will address the identified security vulnerabilities without affecting LabVIEW functionality.
  3. When deploying installations created with LabVIEW, include the downloaded Microsoft .NET 8.0 installers with the distribution and install them after the LabVIEW application has been installed.
    1. Unless you create a script to automate the process, as user will need to install .NET 8.x manually. It is relatively fast install.
