NI-XNET Error -1074384733 When Setting Intf.CAN.TcvrState on NI USB-8502

Issue Details

I am using an NI USB-8502 with NI-XNET and observe that the CAN transceiver continues to bias the CAN bus at approximately 2.5 V on CAN_H and CAN_L after all NI-XNET sessions are stopped and closed.
When I attempt to set Intf.CAN.TcvrState to place the transceiver into Sleep mode, the operation fails with error -1074384733.

Solution

The error message indicates that the interface must be started before the I/O operation is performed. Starting the session prior to setting the transceiver state resolves the error and allows the transceiver to enter Sleep mode, releasing the CAN bus.
