Error When Logging into Nigel™ AI

Issue Details

I get an error message when trying to login to Nigel. For example:

"You are not authorized to connect to the Nigel AI. Please contact your administrator."
"Unknown error validating login. Contact NI for support."
"An error occurred while logging in to the Nigel AI. Contact NI for support."

Or Nigel gets in a login loop, where I keep getting the login screen with no error. 

Solution

Errors while logging into Nigel AI Assistant can be caused by a variety of reasons. The following list contains troubleshooting steps for several causes of log in errors. 

• Ensure you have access to Nigel and that your NI.com account is correctly registered:

• Ensure you have the correct entitlements:
  • To check your entitlements: 
    • Login here: https://tnm.emerson.com/nigel/login
    • Open a new tab and go to https://tnm.emerson.com/nigel/check-session
    • Verify that the result includes "entitlements": ["chat"] or "entitlements": ["free", "chat"]. If "chat" is missing, then the account is missing the correct entitlements to use Nigel. 
  • For Volume License Agreements and Enterprise agreements: Ensure you are a technical contact. You can contact your system admin for more information.
  • An Active Software Service Program (SSP) Entitlement is required for Nigel access.

• Update to the newest version of Nigel: How to Update the NI Nigel™ AI
• Reset Nigel Login credentials: Reset Nigel AI Login Credentials
• Uninstall and reinstall eligible software, ensuring Nigel is included in the additional items.

Additional Information

 If the above solutions do not resolve the issue:

• Create a Technical Support case and gather Nigel logs located at %programdata%\National Instruments\AIAssistants\Logs\ and the exact phrasing of the error. Alternatively, you can contact Technical Support at +1 866 275 6964.
• Create a Get Account Help case if the issue is related to difficulties logging in to your NI User Account.
