RCU‑10110 FTP Server Refuses to Establish a Connection

Issue Details

I am trying to access my Rack Control Unit (RCU) through FTP to retrieve log files. However, when I attempt to connect using Windows Explorer, the connection is rejected and the following error is displayed:

Windows cannot access this folder. Make sure you typed the file name correctly and that you have permission to access the folder.

Details: A connection with the server could not be established.

Solution

This error is typically associated with an issue affecting the FTP service running on the RCU. The FTP service depends on the presence of a functional MicroSD card in the RCU.

Use the following steps to narrow down the cause:

1. Power down the rack and remove the MicroSD card from the RCU. Use a card reader on another computer to verify that the card is detected and that its contents can be accessed.
2. Reinsert the MicroSD card into the RCU and ensure it is fully seated. The MicroSD slot uses a push-to-insert/eject mechanism and should provide a noticeable click when inserted correctly.
3. Test with a known-good MicroSD card. The card does not require any special formatting, reimaging, or preloaded files. The RCU automatically creates the required file structure when it detects a valid card.

Additional Information

The FTP service stores user-accessible log files on the MicroSD card. If the card is missing, improperly inserted, or not functioning correctly, the FTP service may fail to start and refuse incoming connections.
