Multisim Value Tab Doesn’t Show Parameter Names

Updated Jul 23, 2026

Issue Details

I installed NI Multisim 14.3 on one of my computers. When opening the properties of a component, such as an AC_VOLTAGE source, and selecting the Value tab, it does not show any parameter names (like Voltage (Pk), Frequency, Phase) on the left side of the dialog. Only the input fields and unit symbols (such as V, Hz, s, °, and %) are visible.

This behavior occurs with most of the components, though some components like BIPOLAR_VOLTAGE display names correctly next to their fields.

We have multiple machines, but some of the machines display the Value tab correctly, while some machines do not. The software version is the same on all machines.

Solution

If this behavior is encountered, perform the following troubleshooting steps to resolve or work around the issue.

  1. Downgrade to NI Multisim 14.2. This version has been verified to display the parameter names correctly on affected machines.
    • Uninstall NI Multisim 14.3 on the affected computer before installing Multisim 14.2.
  2. Reset the NI Multisim User Configuration files.
    • Close NI Multisim.
    • Navigate to C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\National Instruments\Circuit Design Suite\<version>\config using Windows Explorer, replacing <username> with the active Windows user account name and <version> with the installed Multisim version (such as 14.3).
    • Delete all files located inside the \config directory.
    • Open NI Multisim to generate default configuration files.
  3. Adjust the system language format.
    • Open the Windows Settings menu.
    • Navigate to Time & language>>Language & region.
    • Verify that both Windows display language and Regional format are set to English (United States).
    • Uninstall and then reinstall NI Multisim 14.3.
