Error -1074135025 When Using RFmx Soft Front Panel and PXIe-5841

Issue Details

I am using a PXIe-5841 VST. When opening the RFmx Soft Front Panel, I encounter the following error:

NationalInstruments.RFmx.InstrMX: -1074135025: IVI: (Hex 0xBFFA000F) Invalid parameter.

Invalid model in DriverSetup string.

Error code: -1074135025

Additionally, in NI Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX), my device shows a yellow warning icon and is identified as a generic PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller, with the warning: Windows does not have a driver associated with your device. 

How can I resolve this error?

Solution

To resolve this issue, download and install the latest compatible versions of the NI-RFmx, NI-RFSA and NI-RFSG drivers. To check the required driver version for your hardware, refer to its User Manual. For an example, see: PXIe-5841 Driver Support - PXIe-5841 User Manual.

Additional Information

This error occurs because the Windows Operating System has not correctly associated the physical PXIe-5841 card with the required NI drivers. As a result, the IVI session cannot load the appropriate instrument model string.
