Can PXIe-1095(without Timing and and Sync) upgrade to PXIe1095(with Timing and Sync)?

Issue Details

I have a PXIe-1095 chassis without timing and synchronization. I would like to upgrade it to a PXIe-1095 chassis that includes timing and synchronization functionality.  Can PXIe-1095 without Timing and and Sync upgrade to PXIe1095 with Timing and Sync?

Solution

No, the PXIe-1095 chassis without timing and synchronization cannot be upgraded to a version with timing and synchronization.
The limitation exists due to the following hardware differences:
  • The PXIe-1095 with timing and synchronization uses an OCXO (Oven-Controlled Crystal Oscillator), while the version without timing and synchronization uses a VCXO (Voltage-Controlled Crystal Oscillator).
  • The backplane designs of the two chassis types are different and not interchangeable.

Note: Please avoid attempting hardware modification or add-on upgrades, as they are not supported for this chassis conversion. Any issues, please contact NI Support.
