I am using a PXIe-7903 in LabVIEW and observe that compilation takes an unusually long time, even when building a very simple VI. The compile duration does not seem to correlate with the size or complexity of the VI.
There is limited option to significantly reduce the compilation time. Users can change the build directive in the build specification to Reduce Compilation Time instead of the default Explore which runs more optimization steps.
