My X3x0 Responds After Second Probe on Windows

Issue Details

I am using a Windows computer and when I run uhd_usrp_probe.exe for my Ettus X3x0 it is unsuccessful the first time and then successful the second time.

Solution

It is likely that Windows power management is putting the high-speed network adapter into a low-power state causing a temporary disruption. To fix this you can manage the network adapter by performing the following steps.

 

Disable Network Adapter Power Management

  1. Open Device Manager in Windows and expand Network adapters.
  2. Right-click the network adapter connected to the USRP and select Properties.
  3. Go to the Power Management tab.
  4. Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" and click OK.
