Reactivating LabVIEW Community Edition

Updated Jun 10, 2026

To reactivate your LabVIEW Community Edition you typically need to renew the license annually through the NI website. This edition is free for non-commercial use but requires a manual renewal to trigger the licensing system.

  1. Visit the Renewal Page: Go to the LabVIEW Community Edition page.
  2. Log In: Ensure you are logged into the NI account that you use with the NI License Manager on your computer.
  3. Renew Your License: Click on the "Renew Your License" link on the page.
  4. Trigger Activation: In many cases, simply clicking the "Download Now" button and starting the download (even if you cancel it halfway) is enough to trigger the system to register a new 1-year license to your account.
  5. Update in NI License Manager:
    • Open NI License Manager.
    • Ensure you are logged in.
    • Select "Check my account for licenses" to refresh your local license status.

Next Steps

  • If the system does not recognize your account, try disabling IPv6 in your network adapter settings and use only IPv4.
  • Ensure you have the Community Edition installed. If you accidentally installed the Professional version you must log out, re-download the Community installer while logged in and then sign back into NI License Manager.
