Issue Details
I install two modules in a PXIe-1090 MXI chassis. One is a PXIe-408x series DMM (e.g., PXIe-4081), and the other is a PXI module (e.g., PXI-2503 Switch module). When the PXIe-1090 chassis is connected to the host PC via Thunderbolt, the system crashes with a Blue Screen of Death (BSoD) during startup, indicating that the issue is related to ni408x_driver.sys. As a result, the host PC cannot boot into the operating system.
- I have verified that the chassis and all module drivers are correctly installed on the host PC, and that the driver versions are compatible with the hardware.
- I also followed the steps in the MXI Troubleshooting Guide, but none of them resolved the issue.
- If either of the two modules is removed from the PXIe-1090 chassis, the host PC can boot normally, and both the chassis and modules are correctly detected in NI MAX. The issue only occurs when the PXIe-408x module and the PXI module are installed in the chassis at the same time.
- This issue does not occur on all host PCs—some reproduce the problem, while others do not.
