Find DataFinder Port for DIAdem Communication Through a Firewall

This article explains how to identify the TCP port used by DIAdem when connecting to a DataFinder server. After completing these steps, you will know which port must be opened to allow communication between DIAdem and the DataFinder server.

  • Launch DIAdem on the client machine
  • Attempt to connect to the remote DataFinder server from the DIAdem NAVIGATOR
  • While the connection attempt is active (or after the error appears), press Win + R
  • Type resmon and press Enter to open Resource Monitor
  • Select the Network tab
  • Under TCP Connections, locate "DIAdem.exe" in the Image column
  • Identify the connection entry corresponding to the target DataFinder server
  • Check the Remote Port column for that connection, this value is the TCP port used for DataFinder communication

After completing these steps, you will have identified the TCP port used by DIAdem to communicate with the DataFinder server. You can use this port number to configure firewall rules and allow successful communication between the client and server. The DIAdem connection should proceed without being blocked once the correct port is opened.
