How will the above impact NI Controllers?
- The PXIe‑8842 and PXIe‑8822 controllers will temporarily transition from a 512GB SSD to a functionally equivalent 500GB SSD. We expect to ship controllers with this temporary SSD configuration from May 2026 through May 2027. If the situation extends beyond this period, we will provide an updated notification.
- The PXIe-8861, PXIe-8862 and PXIe-8881 controllers may ship with functionally equivalent 1TB SSD replacing the current 512GB SSD as interim mitigation plan depending on stock availability.
What differences are seen in NI Controllers following the transition to a new SSD?
- For PXIe‑8842 and PXIe‑8822, with the new alternative SSD (with 500GB storage size), there would be a total 12GB capacity difference compared to the current shipping 512GB SSD.
- For PXIe‑8861, PXIe-8862 and PXIe‑8881, with the interim SSD (with 1TB storage size), there would be a total 512GB capacity difference compared to the current shipping 512GB SSD.
There should be no other hardware, software, or performance degradation issues due to the SSD changes.
