Issue Details

In TestStand, I see the Nigel AI login panel appear inside the Sequence Editor, but I cannot move or reposition it. The panel is docked in a way that covers menu items and parts of the workspace, which prevents normal use of TestStand.

Resetting the UI configuration allows me to temporarily restore the layout, but the issue returns every time I restart TestStand. This makes it difficult to use or deploy the environment.

The following image shows how the Nigel AI login panel appears embedded and overlapping the TestStand UI:

Solution

This behavior can occur due to a corrupted UI layout state or an issue with how Nigel is integrated into the TestStand environment.

To resolve the issue, reinstall Nigel to refresh its integration with TestStand:

  1. Open NI Package Manager.

  2. In the Installed tab, search for Nigel AI, then select all the related products and click Remove.

  3. Follow the steps shown in NI Package Manager to uninstall Nigel AI completely, ensuring all its components are removed.

  4. Reinstall Nigel AI Integration, making sure its version matches the TestStand version you're using, and all required dependencies are included.

  5. Reboot your computer to finish the installation, then launch TestStand again and verify that the Nigel login panel appears correctly.

After reinstalling Nigel, the UI behavior should no longer occur.

Additional Information

To ensure the UI layout is preserved after resolving the issue, save and configure the TestStand layout to load at startup:

  1. Navigate to Configure>>Sequence Editor Options>>UI Configuration.
  2. Click Save Current to store the current layout.
  3. Enable Automatically Load Configuration at Startup and select your saved configuration.
