Issue Details

I was able to use the PXIe-8267 normally for some time in a PXIe-1085 chassis. However, recently I noticed that the PXIe-8267 drives are missing from Windows Disk Management. Only one drive is being detected instead of the expected four, as shown in the figure below.

Solution

The PXIe-8267 requires a chassis that provides at least 58 W of slot cooling capacity, whereas the PXIe-1085 chassis offers only 38 W. When the PXIe-8267 is installed and used in a PXIe-1085 chassis, it may operate normally for some time; however, prolonged use can lead to unexpected behavior, such as drives disappearing from Windows Disk Management. This condition may result in hardware damage requiring repair.

Additional Information

To ensure proper operation of the PXIe-8267, use it in a PXIe chassis that provides a slot cooling capacity of at least 58 W, such as the PXIe-1095, PXIe-1092, PXIe-1088, or PXIe-1084.
