SystemLink Server Data Navigation Page Can Not Connect to DataFinder

Issue Details

When I attempt to connect the SystemLink Server Data Navigation page to a particular DataFinder instance, I get an error such as this one:

Could not connect with the instance: DataFinderName.

Solution

There are a variety of reasons that the Data Navigation page in SystemLink Server might fail to connect to a given DataFinder:

  • Check that all the services are Live in the NI SystemLink Server Configuration dialog
  • Check that the DataFinder you're trying to connect to is in the Started state
  • Check that the DataFinder you're trying to connect to has already indexed at least 1 file
  • Check if your user profile has sufficient permissions (Role) on the DataFinder's Workspace
  • Check that "SystemLink TDM DataFinder Module User" licenses are available to the SystemLink Server computer
  • Check that "Enable AMQP" is set in the NI SystemLink Server Configuration dialog.  If not, set it, then restart the SLS computer.
