This article describes how to resolve the Auxiliary power was not detected or has gone out of the valid range error (error code -1074118573) observed on the PXIe-4150.
The issue can occur during a Self-Test /Self-cal inĀ NI Measurement & Automation Explorer (NI MAX) or in InstrumentStudio, and cannot be cleared by a simple device reset unless an auxiliary power supply module is present.
This procedure is intended for engineers troubleshooting PXIe-4150 hardware initialization issues in NI MAX.
Prerequisites:
  • PXIe-4150 installed in the system
  • NI Measurement & Automation Explorer (NI MAX)
  • APS-4157 or APS-4158 auxiliary power supply module available

Error screenshot is as below:

  1. Connect APS-4157/8/9 with PXIe-4150
  2. Reset PXIe-4150 in NI Max.
  3. Self Test Pxie-4150 in NI Max.

The root cause is that PXIe-4150 must work together with external power supply(APS-4157/8/9). After installing the APS-4157/8/9 and resetting the device in NI MAX, the auxiliary power detection error is cleared and the PXIe-4150 operates normally.
