Error -17098 Occurs When Calibrating NI Devices with Calibration Executive

Issue Details

When I attempt to run a calibration for NI devices using Calibration Executive, the calibration fails and an error message as shown below is displayed.

Error 17098 occurred at Exception occurred in TSAPI: The file 'C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Calibration Executive\procedures\NI 407x\NI 4070.seq' was saved in TestStand 5.1.0.226 and is incompatible with TestStand 4.0.0.1030.

How can I solve this error?

Solution

This issue occurs when a calibration sequence that came with a newer version of Calibration Executive is being executed using an older version of Calibration Executive. Calibration sequence files are not backward compatible, which results in the incompatibility error.

To resolve this issue, either:

• Reinstall the older version of Calibration Executive to restore the matching calibration sequence files, or
• Install a version of Calibration Executive that matches the version required by the calibration sequence file.
