Why My NI PCIe-PXIe-8381 Unable to Work Properly in X16 slot

Issue Details

I am using Advantech AIMB-505 and the PCIE-PXIE 8381 unable to function well in X16 slot but able to work in X1 slot.

Solution

This is due to the BIOS setting. Try to look for the following settings in BIOS：

  • Changing the Link Speed to Gen 1 or Gen 2
  • Changing the Link Width to X8
  • Disabled the ASPM
  • Changing the payload size to 128

Additional Information

Please note that every manufacturer have different BIOS settings and not every manufacturer BIOS contains the same parameter. NI advise user to check with the manufacturer.
