VI Analyzer Tests Will Not Load After Installing Newer LabVIEW Version

Issue Details

I have a system with LabVIEW 2024 Q3 and the VI Analyzer Toolkit installed and working correctly. After installing LabVIEW 2025 Q3 or LabVIEW 2026 Q1 with VI Analyzer Toolkit support on the same system, the VI Analyzer Toolkit no longer works in LabVIEW 2024 Q3. None of the VI Analyzer tests load or run, and the tests appear broken or unloadable. This issue occurs consistently after installing the newer LabVIEW version and prevents the VI Analyzer Toolkit from running in the older LabVIEW environment.

Solution

This issue occurs because the source VIs in the LVAddons folder are upgraded when a newer LabVIEW version installs the VI Analyzer Toolkit. Older LabVIEW versions cannot load VIs saved in a newer version.

Use the following workaround to restore compatibility:
  1. Open NI Package Manager.
  2. Remove the installed VI Analyzer Toolkit associated with the newer LabVIEW version.

  3. Select Settings >> General.
  4. Enable Show available packages and feed management tools
  5. Select Settings >> Feeds.
  6. Clear all enabled feeds to prevent automatic selection of newer toolkit versions.
  7. Install the VI Analyzer Toolkit version that matches the older LabVIEW release (for example, VI Analyzer Toolkit 24.1 for LabVIEW 2024 Q3).
  8. Launch the older LabVIEW version.
  9. Verify that the VI Analyzer Toolkit loads and runs correctly in the older LabVIEW version.
This process restores a compatible set of VI Analyzer Toolkit VIs for the older LabVIEW installation.

Additional Information

If you re‑enable feeds in NI Package Manager, you must deselect NI LabVIEW VI Analyzer Toolkit Support for LabVIEW in the Updates tab.

After you select Update, NI Package Manager may prompt you to install additional items. These items can include the VI Analyzer Toolkit, even if it was previously deselected. If this occurs, clear the VI Analyzer Toolkit selection again before proceeding with the update.
