How to Change the Amplitude of the Transmitting Signal in MIL-1553 Bus Module?

Issue Details

I have MIL-1553 Bus Monitor module and wish to change the amplitude of the transmitting signal.

What is the best way to the amplitude of the transmitting signal?

Solution

In the BIT XML Editor, locate the attributes under the 1553 Channel node called amplitudeAdjustEnable and amplitudePercent.

  • - Set amplitudeAdjustEnable to True
  • - Adjust the amplitudePercent to the needed voltage levels.

Based on the 1553 bus characteristics, the module will select an output voltage. This selected amplitude is considered 50%. From there, the user can adjust the amplitude up or down between 0 and 100%. The limits of the voltages will be between 0V and 26V. Typically for transformer-coupled connections to the bus, voltage amplitude will be between 20 and 26 volts. For direct-coupled connection to the bus, voltage amplitude will be between 6 and 9 volts.
