Reset Nigel AI Login Credentials

Issue Details

  • I'm getting an error when logging into the Nigel AI. How do I reset my credentials?
  • How do I log out of Nigel?

Solution

To rest Nigel AI login credentials or log out:

 

  1. Restart the computer to clear the memory of NI background processes and services.
  2. Delete the following (if they exist):
    • C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\National Instruments\NigelLocalService\ProtectedStore.dat 

    • Log files in: %programdata%\National Instruments\AIAssistants\Logs
    • If using LabVIEW:

      • 64-bit:  

        • C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\National Instruments\LabVIEW <Version number> x64\LabVIEW Nigel Chat Application

      • 32-bit:
        • C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\National Instruments\LabVIEW <Version number> x86\LabVIEW Nigel Chat Application

You may need to restart the computer again. 

Additional Information

The AppData folder may be hidden. To show it, open Windows Explorer and navigate to the C:\Users\<username> folder. Then in the Windows Explorer navigation bar, go to View>>Show>>Hidden items. Once Hidden Items is selected, you should be able to see the AppData folder.
