Can You Merge Table Cells in DIAdem?

Issue Details

  • Is it possible to merge rows and columns in a table in DIAdem?
  • I am developing a DIAdem report and would like to combine certain rows so that they span the width of multiple rows.
  • Are there any merging options for tables in DIAdem?
  • I would like to create a table similar to below. Is this possible with DIAdem?

Solution

DIAdem does not allow table cells to be "merged" or "combined" in the way that is familiar when using Microsoft Excel.

To workaround this, it is necessary to:

 

  1. Split your table design into multiple tables. For the example above, it could look something like this:

 

  1. Align the edges of each table perfectly, using the Position tab in the table Settings.

 

 

  1. Group the tables together, so that they behave as one single table.
    • This can be done by highlighting all tables, and clicking Group from the top toolbar.
