Unexpected Outbound Traffic to masstransit.io From SystemLink Enterprise

Issue Details

I observed unexpected outbound network traffic from SystemLink Enterprise to https://usage-tracking.masstransit.io/usage. What is causing this and how can I prevent it?

Solution

This traffic is eliminated in SystemLink Enterprise 2026-02 and later. No action is required after upgrading.

For SystemLink Enterprise versions prior to 2026-02, you can block the outbound route to masstransit.io in your Kubernetes environment with a NetworkPolicy. Alternatively, you can configure your cluster DNS or external firewall to block resolution of masstransit.io. This will have no impact on SystemLink functionality.

Additional Information

An internal third-party library used by several SystemLink services introduced anonymous usage telemetry. This telemetry collects only non-identifiable data about internal library configuration. No customer data, credentials, or personally identifiable information is included. The data is used solely by the library maintainers to analyze usage patterns and guide future development. The telemetry is sent once per service, approximately five minutes after startup.  The telemetry was enabled first in SystemLink Enterprise 2025-03.
