Issue Details

I am building a LabVIEW project using LabVIEW 2020 and have installed Industrial Communication for CANopen 2022 Q4 which is compatible with LabVIEW 2020 and the operating system is RT OS with Linux RT System Image 2022 Q4/

The cRIO-9049 target is detected properly. However, when attempting to add the NI-9881 module under the RT target, the module is disabled and shows the following message:

“NI-9881 module hardware is incompatible with NI Industrial Communication for CANopen software version.”

Solution

This is a known issue in the Industrial Communication for CANopen 2022 Q4 installation.

Following the steps below, which acts as a workaround. Copy the folder from

  1. Copy the folder from "C:\Program Files\NI\LVAddons\nicanopen\1\Targets\NI\FPGA\cRIO\cRIO-9881".
  2. And paste the folder to "C:\Program Files (x86)\National Instruments\LabVIEW 2022\Targets\NI\FPGA\cRIO".

This procedure should resolve the issue.
