Missing Drivers When Installing Software in NI Linux Real-Time Target With “Other” as Programming Environment

Issue Details

I am programming my NI Linux Real-Time (RT) target with "Other" as programming environment. Now, I want to install some feeds in my RT target however, when looking at the software list in the Real-Time Software window in NI MAX I cannot find the drivers I need.

  • For example, NI-SCOPE is not listed

Solution

This behavior is expected because there are some feeds (IPK files) that depend on ni-labview-realtime feed, directly or indirectly, that is why the missing feeds do not appear when selecting Other as programming environment. To be able to install the missing driver, you must change the programming environment of your RT target to LabVIEW, this will include the ni-labview-realtime feed and the IPK feeds that depend on it. Note: Even though that, LabVIEW is selected as the Programming Environment, it does not limit the RT target to be able to use it with other programming environments after installation.
