Issue Details

When configuring selectable digital filters on PXIe-430x modules in LabVIEW, users may encounter errors if the cutoff frequency is set outside the supported range, as shown below. This article explains why this occurs and provides guidance on valid filter settings.

Solution

PXIe-430x modules support selectable digital filters with predefined cutoff frequencies. These filters are designed to provide anti-aliasing and noise reduction. However, the cutoff frequency cannot be arbitrarily set; it must match one of the supported values listed in the module’s datasheet.

For example, PXIe-4304 and PXIe-4305 support the following cutoff frequencies:

Attempting to configure a value outside this range (e.g., 50 Hz) will result in a LabVIEW error. To avoid errors use only the supported cutoff frequencies listed in the module’s specifications.
