Issue Details

When using NI PXIe-6571 with Digital Pattern Editor for MIPI RFFE communication, users may encounter an error during read operations, as shown below. This article explains the issue, its root cause, and the steps to resolve it.

Solution

The error occurs because the .digicapture file required for capturing and interpreting DUT responses was not created or properly configured. Without this file, Digital Pattern Editor cannot process the read sequence correctly.

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

  1. Verify DUT Connection

    • Ensure the DUT is properly wired to the PXIe-6571 module.
  2. Create a .digicapture File

    • In Digital Pattern Editor, configure and save a .digicapture file for the MIPI RFFE read operation.
  3. Test Communication in LabVIEW

    • Use the MIPI RFFE API example in LabVIEW to confirm register read/write functionality.
