Issue Details

When you check the PXIe-4190 Specifications document , you will find some information about LCR Instrument Capabilities part, like below picture :

You can see the max and min supported value of Capacitors and Resistors , but there is no max limit of Inductors , only min limit value. What is the reason ?

Solution

It is an expected result , which is similar to Keysight E4980A . There isn't a maximum inductor,  because the value would not be realistic or realizable.  Our maximum impedance is 1GΩ. with a minimum frequency of 40Hz.  L=Z/(2*pi*f) --> 1GΩ/(2*pi*40Hz) = 4mH ; The above algorithm represents theoretical values, and is the maximum inductance value guaranteed with a certain level of accuracy. When other inductors are larger than 4mH, the PXIe-4190 can still perform measurements, like below picture shown .

Because a sufficiently large inductor means a smaller current, it will not damage the measuring equipment, and therefore there is no maximum value limit.
