Issue Details

I am using an Ethernet Interface Card (PXIe-8285 or PXIe-8523) in a NI Linux RT system, and I want to configure its ports using an IPv6 address, but NI-MAX only allows to configure them as IPv4. How can I configure its port to set the IPv6 address?

Solution

IPv6 is not supported currently by NI drivers even though the most hardware support it. NI R&D Driver team will need some time to enable this feature on NI MAX.

NI called as "NI drivers" specifically because the Network Interface Controller (NIC) is using vendor driver, so it has no issue to support IPv6. Only NI driver or software like Platform Services or MAX don't support IPv6.

Additional Information

You can try to use Windows Command Prompt or other 3rd party network tools to try set the NIC IPv6 address.
