Issue Details

  • When I power up my RM-26999, I notice that the RM-26999 blue status LED is not turning on, but my yellow Hazardous Voltage LEDs do come on, even though I have nothing connected to those inputs.
  • When I connect my DAQ device to my RM-26999 but have not yet powered on my 24V external power supply, I see the Hazardous Voltage LEDs are on.

Solution

The yellow Hazardous Voltage LED can turn on if your DAQ device is powered up and connected, but your 24V power supply is not turned on or the RM-26999 is in a protection mode.

The power the RM-26999 is getting from the DAQ device is enough to erroneously turn on these Hazardous Voltage LEDs even when no signals are connected to the voltage inputs.  Since the blue status LED of the RM-26999 should be off in either of these states, the RM-26999 is not powered up properly for operation.  Restart the system following the recommended power up sequence and check the status of all LEDs to ensure the system is ready for use.
