If you want to hide menu items in TestStand, this article provides step-by-step guidance on how to do it.

Follow these steps to remove a menu item from the TestStand interface:

Step 1: Open the Customize Window

  • Click on View in the menu bar.
  • Select Customize Toolbars/Menus.

Step 2: Access the Commands Tab

  • In the Customize window that appears, click the Commands tab.

Step 3: Rearrange Commands

  • Click the Rearrange Commands button. A new window will pop out as shown.

Step 4: Select the Menu to Edit

  • In the Rearrange Command window:
    • Ensure Menu Bar is selected.
    • From the dropdown menu, choose the selected window you wish to make the change. This dropdown contains multiple menu categories (e.g., File, Edit, View, etc.), so be sure to select the correct one you want to modify.

Step 5: Delete a Menu Item

  • In the list of available commands under the selected menu (e.g., File), locate the command you want to remove — for example, “New.”
  • Click on the command, then select “Delete.”

Note: You can delete any command from the menu, not just “New.” Make sure you only remove items you no longer need.

  • After deleting the command, click “Close.” to exit the “Rearrange Commands” window.

Step 6: Apply Changes

  • The “Rearrange Commands” window will close.
  • Finally, click “Close” in the “Customize” window to apply the changes.

The changes will be applied as result, and you will no longer see the menu Item that you have deleted.
