Operating System Compatibility for the TPC-2230

Issue Details

I have a TPC-2230 Touch Panel Computer. According to the user manual, this device is distributed with Windows Embedded Standard 7 (WES 7). Considering that this Operating System (OS) reach its end of support on October 13, 2020 according to this website: Windows Embedded Standard 7 - Microsoft Lifecycle, I would like to change the OS. Is it possible to install Linux or a different OS on the TPC devices offered by NI?

Solution

The TPC-2230 devices distributed by NI support only WES 7. Installing any other Operating System on these computers may result in unexpected behavior and it is not considered a supported configuration.

If your application requires a different OS, consider replacing the TPC-2230 with a standard computer equipped with a Touch Panel Monitor as an alternative solution.
