  • I have an NI thermocouple sensor and would like to know if it's field-cuttable.
  • I am thinking about purchasing a temperature sensor from NI, but would like to know if I can cut the sensor to suit my desired length?
  • How do I know if my RTD is field-cuttable?

Solution

NI have a range of field-cuttable thermocouples and RTDs:

 

  • J-Type thermocouples:
    • 745685-J01 (grounded)
    • 745685-J02 (ungrounded)
  • K-Type thermocouples:
    • 745685-K01 (grounded)
    • 745685-K02 (ungrounded)
  • T-Type thermocouples:
    • 745685-T01 (grounded)
    • 745685-T02 (ungrounded)
  • E-Type thermocouples:
    • 745685-E01 (grounded)
    • 745685-E02 (ungrounded)
  • RTDs:
    • 745686-01

Sensors that are not listed above are not field-cuttable. Other sensor types, such as ready-made or thermocouple wires, can be found on the NI website.
