Issue Details

Upon using the field upgrade kit from Windows 7 to Windows 10 that I recently purchased 787535-03, I attempted to upgrade the OS of the PXIe-8840 with BIOS version 2.0.2f0 based on guidance from this KB link.

However, the following error occurred, and the upgrade could not be completed:

The install.wim file itself was found in the following folder:
D:\OS\WIMFiles\MUI\amd64\22H2\20230531

I ran Setup.exe directly from the USB drive.
Then I followed the steps from this KB link again, but the following options appeared in step 5. Select the USB drive as the boot option.

I tried selecting each option, but it just took me to the login screen instead of proceeding to step 6.

  • P0:CT250MX500SSD1
  • Dynabookdynabook USB DRVPMAP
  • UEFI:dynabookdynabook USB DRVPMAP
  • UEFI:dynabookdynabook USB DRVPMAP, Partition 1
  • Dynabookdynabook USB DRVPMAP

Solution

Kindly check for the message prompting to click any button on the keyboard after selecting the above option to avoid taken straight to the login screen.
For example, after selecting UEFI:dynabookdynabook USB DRVPMAP, the update was possible and the OS update to Windows 10 was completed.
