PXIe-5785 Randomly Changes Name in NI-MAX

Issue Details

The PXIe-5785 card occasionally changes its name in NI-MAX during certain events. This behavior is random and may lead to device misidentification or configuration issues.

 

Solution

This issue has been observed when the system resumes from sleep mode. Upon waking, NI-MAX may display a different or incorrect name for the PXIe-5785 card. To resolve or mitigate this issue disable the Sleep Mode in the PXI controller to prevent the system from entering sleep mode to avoid triggering the name change behavior.

Steps to disable Sleep Mode in Windows 11

  1. Open Settings.
    • Click the Start button and select Settings, or press Windows + I.
  2. Go to Power & Battery Settings.
    • Navigate to System >> Power & battery.
  3. Adjust Screen and Sleep Settings.
    • Under the Power section, find Screen and sleep settings.
  4. Set Sleep Options to Never.
